Posted on 20:52 by Unknown

In a computer system when you install windows operating system then the hard disk of your system is divided into parts, known as partition of the disk. Here with this blog I describe how the partition of hard disk is done without formatting for windows operating system.

Steps for partition of hard disk for installed windows operating system are given below:

1-Firstly you have to click on the "start" button after that make a right click on option "Computer" now click on manage option and a new window is open in front of you or you can also do one thing just click on Control Panel then Administrative Tools and finally you reached to Computer Management window.

2-After that you see some option on the left side of this new window. Here you have to select the storage option and click on disk managment. When you click on disk management option you will able to see the primary parts of your hard disk like C drive or D drive.

3-Now choose either Cdrive or Ddrive and make a right click on it and select the shrink option. Now a shrink window is open here you have to fill the amount of partition disk in MB according to your need.

4-After fulfilling the data you have to click on shrink button, the shrinking process starts and it will take some time depends on size of disk.

5-When shrinking process is completed, a new window with unallocated space will appear on your screen you have to make a right click on it and choose the option "new simple volume".

6-After that you have to choose "NTFS" and then clock on "next" and finally click on "finish".

7-Now restart your computer set up.
